Job summary

Laredo Technical Services, Inc. seeks an Optometrist to provide on-site eye care for the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System in New Orleans. You will conduct outpatient exams, evaluate eye symptoms, and prescribe lenses during standard hours, 0730–1600, Monday through Friday.

The ideal candidate has a Doctor of Optometry, active licensure, and board certification, with VA or hospital experience preferred. A current BLS certification and NPI/DEA numbers are required.

Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen or hold a valid permanent resident card.
• Experience: minimum of one year in Optometry and board certified.
• Must have Optometrist’s current unencumbered licensure in the US including state issue/expiration dates.
• Certified by The American Board of Optometry; basic life support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient eye care and exams for VA beneficiaries.
• Perform routine eye examinations and visual field tests.
• Take detailed medical histories and manage prescriptions.
• Maintain professional customer relations with veterans and VA staff.
