University of California - San Diego Medical Centers seeks a Comprehensive Optometrist to provide primary eye care, perform comprehensive exams, problem-focused exams, and contact lens fittings across clinics. Urgent eye care with appropriate testing will be part of daily duties.
You will triage acute conditions, collaborate with ophthalmology, and contribute to teaching and research while applying advanced knowledge of ocular disease. Flexibility to travel to satellite clinics may be required.
The Comprehensive Optometrist works in various clinics focusing on primary eye care and ocular disease with involvement in urgent eye care. Has a broad scope of knowledge and experience in managing ocular disease and disorders of the eye and visual system to maximize visual function and eye health.
Provides primary eye care including comprehensive eye examinations, problem-focused examinations, and contact lens fittings. Triages acute eye-related issues and provides urgent eye care including appropriate testing to diagnose, treat and manage ocular health conditions. Collaborates with ophthalmology department specialists and members of the healthcare community. Participates in teaching and research.
Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and campus policies and procedures to resolve a wide range of issues. Demonstrates good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
Annual Full Pay Range: $151,671 - $200,133 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $72.64 - $95.85
