Job summary

Swift Optometry in Colchester, VT is seeking a friendly Optometrist to provide comprehensive eye care in long-term care facilities, including bedside visits. You will perform routine exams, dilated exams, diabetic evaluations and treat infections, while supporting senior residents with gentle, patient-centered care.

The role requires licensure (OD and DEA) and the ability to lift up to 20 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods. A per-patient compensation model with benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• OD license required.
• DEA license required.
• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and stand/walk up to 6-8 hours per day.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, comprehensive exams for glasses and contacts.
• Perform dilated exams.
• Provide diabetic evaluations.
• Treatment of infection and injury.
• Repair and equip patients with eyeglasses.
• Proficient in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease.
• Comfortable working with the geriatric population.
