Job summary

The MedElite Group is seeking a friendly and compassionate Optometrist to join our team in Augusta, Maine. You will provide comprehensive eye care for residents in long‑term care facilities, including routine eye exams, dilated exams, diabetic evaluations, and management of ocular disease, working closely with a dedicated healthcare team.

This part‑time role (3 days per week) offers competitive compensation per patient, PTO, and malpractice insurance.

Qualifications

• OD license requirement.
• DEA license required.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and stand/walk for 6–8 hours daily.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, comprehensive exams for glasses and contacts.
• Perform dilated exams.
• Provide diabetic evaluations.
• Treatment of infection and injury.
• Repair and equip patients with eyeglasses.
• Diagnose and treat ocular disease.
