Job summary

The Eye Doctors is seeking a detail-oriented Optometric Technician to support patient flow and preliminary testing in our Lawrence, KS location. This role requires basic computer skills, strong customer service, and a willingness to learn and grow within the practice.

Responsibilities include assisting doctors, verifying insurances, and handling inquiries across phone, email, and in person. Open availability within standard business hours is expected, with potential weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Requirements: High School Diploma or GED; Basic computer skills; Strong customer service skills; Excitement to learn and grow; Favorable background check.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a role interacting with customers/patients or equivalent education/experience.
• Preferred: Previous medical office and ophthalmic experience.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient flow.
• Assist the doctor in preliminary testing.
• Verify medical and vision insurances.
• Communicate with patients, doctors, and managers.
• Answer inquiries via phone, email, and in-person requests.
