About the role

As an Optometric Technician for MyEyeDr., you play an essential role by providing direct support to our Doctors of Optometry in preparing patients for their visits, including preliminary testing and measurements. No optical experience? No problem! You will be provided with training and tools needed to learn about an industry that delivers our patients a best-in-class experience to help them see and live their best lives. Join our team today and help provide the highest quality vision care to our patients. This role reports to the Office General Manager but will directly support our Doctors. Some weekend and evening shifts are required.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, accurately document conditions and complaints, and chart medical history for optometrist exams
• Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the doctor and staff during appointments
• Ensure patient comfort with office procedures during appointments
• Learn to use pretest equipment to perform visual screenings prior to doctor visits
• Conduct contact lens training and other preliminary tests as applicable
• Collaborate with the team to provide seamless patient experiences

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with basic math skills
• Personable, patient, and able to comfort patients during screenings
• Detail-oriented and able to work closely with the optometrist
• Willingness to learn about the industry, products, and services
• Team player committed to providing excellent patient care
• Prior healthcare/medical/optical experience preferred but not required; training provided for the right candidate
