Position Overview

The optometric technician plays a vital role in ensuring efficient patient flow by assisting the optometrist with pre-screenings and testing prior to examinations. No optical experience or certification is required as training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure high-quality patient care.
2. Maintain a professional environment and appearance of the office and pretest room.
3. Understand ocular terminology, diseases, and abbreviations.
4. Explain preliminary examinations to patients.
5. Complete paperwork and conduct testing before doctor examinations.
6. Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings.
7. Review prescriptions and patient information, identifying special needs and consulting with team members as needed.
8. Maintain equipment properly.

Ideal Candidate

• Previous retail/optical experience is preferred but not required.
