Optometric Technician - Medical Assistant

The role involves supporting the optometrist by conducting pre-screenings and tests prior to examinations, which helps in delivering the best patient care. No optical experience or certification is required as training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high-quality patient care.
• Maintain a professional environment in the office and pretest room.
• Understand ocular terminology, diseases, and abbreviations.
• Explain preliminary examinations to patients.
• Complete paperwork and perform tests before doctor examinations.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings.
• Perform exam pre-screening.
• Review prescriptions and patient info, and consult with staff as needed.
• Maintain equipment properly.
