Role Overview

The optometric technician supports efficient patient flow, assists the optometrist with pre-screenings and testing, and helps ensure high-quality care. No optical experience or certification is required; training is provided. Enjoy Sundays off!

Responsibilities

1. Ensure high-quality patient care.
2. Maintain a professional atmosphere and appearance.
3. Understand ocular terminology, diseases, and abbreviations.
4. Explain preliminary examinations to patients.
5. Complete paperwork and perform testing before doctor examinations.
6. Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings.
7. Perform exam pre-screening.
8. Review prescriptions and patient information; consult with team members as needed.
9. Maintain equipment properly.

Candidate Profile

Preferred but not required: retail/optical experience. Must have strong customer service, interpersonal, organizational, and multitasking skills, with a professional appearance and attitude. Ability to learn optical concepts and instruct customers clearly is essential.
