Optometric Technician - Medical Assistant

The optometric technician plays a vital role in maintaining efficient patient flow by conducting pre-screenings and tests prior to the optometrist's examination. No optical experience or certification is required; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care.
• Maintain a professional environment in the office and pretest areas.
• Understand ocular terminology, diseases, and abbreviations.
• Explain preliminary examinations to patients.
• Complete paperwork and perform tests before the doctor's examination.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings.
• Review prescriptions and patient information, consulting with team members as needed.
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained.

Qualifications

• Retail/optical experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to learn optical knowledge.
• Clear communication skills.
• Interpersonal, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Professional appearance and attitude.
