Wilson Eye Center is seeking an Optometric Technician I to support the optometrist with patient care and a flawless patient experience. You will perform pre-screening, gather medical histories, and help manage appointments with a focus on accuracy and empathy.

The role requires 1+ year of experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and strong communication skills. Experience with electronic medical records is preferred. This is a full-time on-site position in Valdosta, GA.

Responsabilités

• Pre-screen patients before they see the optometrist, including administration of diagnostic tests.
• Gather patient’s medical history.
• Communicate with doctors, staff, and patients.
• Answer phone calls, greet patients and schedule appointments.
• Educate patients on insurance coverage and vision benefits.
• Train patients on proper contact lens use and care.
• Obtain insurance authorizations and verification of benefits.
• Post charges for exam fees, co-pays, and products sold.
• Assist other team members to reach goals.
• Document optometry exams and procedures as performed by the doctor.
• List diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions and prescriptions as directed.
• Coordinate patient scheduling and monitor patient flow, communicating delays.
