Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a patient-facing role preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to perform basic math and document procedures accurately.
• Team player with good interpersonal and listening skills.
• Flexibility to accommodate schedule changes on short notice.
• Experience as an Optometric Technician or with EMR is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Pre-screen patients and administer diagnostic tests before the optometrist.
• Gather patient medical history and communicate with doctors, staff, and patients.
• Answer calls, greet patients, and schedule appointments.
• Educate patients on vision benefits and insurance coverage.
• Train patients on contact lens use and care.
• Obtain insurance authorizations and verify benefits.
• Post charges for exams, co-pays, and products sold.
• Assist team to reach individual and group goals.
• Document exams and procedures accurately and list diagnoses and instructions.
• Coordinate scheduling and manage patient flow, noting delays.
