Job summary

Lake Ridge Vision Center Inc. is seeking an Optometric Technician I to support the optometrist in delivering quality patient care at our Woodbridge, VA location. You will pre-screen patients, assist with tests, gather history, and help coordinate scheduling while ensuring an excellent patient experience.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of experience, strong communication skills, and is comfortable with basic math and insurance coordination. Prior EMR experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pre-screen patients before they see the optometrist and assist with diagnostic tests.
• Gather patient medical history and communicate with doctors, staff, and patients.
• Answer phones, greet patients and schedule appointments.
• Educate patients on insurance coverage and vision benefits.
• Train patients on proper contact lens use and care.
• Obtain insurance authorizations and verify benefits.
• Post charges for exam fees, co-pays, and products sold.
• Document optometry exams and procedures accurately in EMR.
• Coordinate patient scheduling and monitor patient flow.
