Job summary

Target Optical, part of EssilorLuxottica, is seeking an Optometric Technician to deliver exceptional patient service and ensure high-quality eye care. You will assist with pre-examination testing, manage records, process prescriptions, and support optometrists while maintaining store standards.

The role emphasizes friendly customer interaction, accurate data handling, and efficient operation of the POS system in a retail eyewear environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one-year strong guest service skills.
• High School Graduate / GED or equivalent experience.
• Strong communicator and listener to guests and associates.
• Strong basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Strong interpersonal skills (friendly, caring, patient).
• Sales skills and knowledge of store merchandise.
• Familiarity with cash register, computers and calculators.

Responsibilities

• Greets guests without delay and shows urgency in providing service.
• Explains services, paperwork, tests and products to guests and patients.
• Reviews prescriptions and patient information and identifies special needs.
• Performs pre-examination testing with accuracy and answers patient questions.
• Operates the POS system and handles payments following procedures.
• Keeps store displays clean, attractive and organized.
• Maintains patient records in an orderly, efficient manner.
