Dunes Eye Consultants is seeking a dedicated Optometric Technician I in Dakota Dunes, SD. You will support eye exams, collect histories, train patients, and help manage patient flow to ensure a high-quality experience.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of customer service experience (optometric or medical experience is a plus!)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong multitasking and organizational abilities in a fast-paced setting

We’re looking for a detail-oriented, patient-focused individual to join our team as an Optometric Technician I. Work hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm- NO WEEKENDS!

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Support optometrists by performing pre-screening tests and assisting with exams
• Collect patient medical histories and explain vision benefits clearly and confidently
• Train patients on contact lens use and care
• Verify insurance, schedule appointments, and keep communication flowing smoothly
• Help coordinate patient flow and contribute to a seamless, high-quality experience
• Collaborate with your team to meet goals and deliver exceptional care
• Welcome and prepare patients for their eye examinations.
• Obtain patient medical and ocular histories.
• Perform preliminary testing, including visual acuity, autorefraction, tonometry, retinal imaging, and other diagnostic procedu
• Assist the doctor during examinations and procedures as needed.
• Educate patients on contact lenses, eyewear, and treatment plan
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records.
• Clean and maintain exam rooms and equipment.
• Support front desk operations, including scheduling appointments and answering phones when needed.
• Contact lens training, education, and ordering
