Botwin Eye Group in St. Michaels is seeking an Optometric Technician I to support optometrists and enhance patient care. You will assist with pre-screening, tests, and education on vision benefits, while maintaining smooth patient flow and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of customer service experience (optometric experience preferred)
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong organizational and time management abilities

• Detail-focused with accuracy in documenting patient exams and procedures
• Flexible to changing schedules and proactive toward team success

What You’ll Do

• Assist optometrists in delivering outstanding patient care, from pre-screening to post-exam follow-up
• Perform diagnostic tests, gather patient medical histories, and assist in educating patients about their vision benefits
• Guide patients in contact lens training, insurance verification, and scheduling their next visit
• Ensure smooth patient flow by coordinating appointments and managing office communications
• Work closely with your team to meet individual and collective goals for optimal patient care and satisfaction

What We’re Looking For

• 1+ year of experience in customer service (optometric experience preferred but not required!)
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to educate and connect with patients
• Strong organizational and time management abilities—you’ll be multitasking in a fast-paced environment
