Job summary

Panorama Eyecare in Fort Collins, CO is seeking an Optometric Technician to support busy clinics and enhance patient experiences. You will work with Optometrists and the clinical team, following established protocols and maintaining high standards of care.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, clear communication, friendly service, and teamwork. Previous optometry experience is welcome but not required, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Must be friendly, self-motivated, reliable, organized and customer service oriented.
• Experience in optometry preferred but not required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Patient intake and workup following standardized protocol and using electronic health records.
• Assists Optometrists and patients with contact lens fittings.
• Patient counseling and education as needed.
• Monitor and manage patients’ eye and vision issues during and after a visit as directed by Optometrist.
• Maintain clinic flow and scheduling; assess no-shows and add-ins.
• Assist in retail aspects of the office including eyecare products and eyewear.
• Clean and stock work areas and close exam lanes/equipment at end of clinic.
• Collaborate with Windsor Eye Care team for cross-department support and patient triage.

The Role

We are seeking an Optometric Technician to add to our team! The focus of this position is to ensure a positive experience for the patient, physician, and clinical team that exemplifies fulfillment of the mission statement at Panorama Eyecare.

The Optometric Technician assists in all aspects and functions of the assigned patient care area. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be friendly, self-motivated, reliable, organized, customer service oriented and a team player. Experience in optometry preferred but not required.

• Patient intake and workup, following standardized protocol and utilizing electronic health records.
• Assists Optometrists and patients with contact lens fittings.
• Patient counseling and education as needed.
• Monitor and manage patients’ eye and vision issues during and after a visit, as directed by Optometrist.
• Aware of overall clinic flow, contributes to efficiency of clinic.
• Updates daily schedule by assessing no-shows and add-ins.
• Assists in retails aspects of the office including eyecare products and eyewear.
• Helps with cleaning and stocking work areas including closing exam lanes and equipment at end of clinic.
• Works within the confines of the Windsor Eye Care team by assisting other departments with answers to questions, patient triage, etc.
• Maintains a professional demeanor, including dress and work conversation.
• Assists in resolution of patient complaints.
• Maintains effective working relationships with other staff and optometrists.
• Performs other assigned duties as directed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in a fast-paced medical office and in electronic health record is preferred.

Additional Job Details

• Works at our clinic location at 20/20 Eye Center at 3501 S Shields St, Fort Collins, CO 80526 and at Windsor Eye Care at 515 Main St, Windsor, CO). This position will travel between Windsor and Fort Collins
• This is a Full-Time Position.
• Compensation for this role will be $17 - $21 an hour based on experience.
