Job summary

Panorama Eyecare seeks an Ophthalmic Technician to join our patient-focused team in Colorado. You will support ophthalmic testing, patient education, and clinic flow across Erie and Boulder locations.

We offer a full-time position with wage levels based on certifications (COA/COT/COMT) and experience; pay ranges from entry to advanced levels, with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities within our Eyecare practice.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior medical office experience preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform ophthalmic testing and patient care tasks.
• Provide patient counseling and education as needed.
• Maintain efficient clinical flow and assist in scheduling and triage.
• Scribes in a rotational pattern.
• Stock and clean clinic as needed.
• Assist physician and other departments as required.
• Pursue ophthalmic technician certification within 18 months.

The Position

The Role

Our Technicians are medical professionals that are responsible for the management and well-being of the ophthalmic patients. The technicians will assist in all aspects and functions of the assigned patient care area, efficiently and accurately perform ophthalmic testing, provide comprehensive education. The focus of this position is to ensure that the ophthalmic patient, physician, and clinical team experience a positive outcome that exemplifies fulfillment of the mission statement at Panorama Eyecare.

• Patient intake and workup, following standardized protocol.
• Ophthalmic diagnostic testing.
• Patient counseling and education as needed.
• Awareness of patient flow issues and ability to maintain efficient clinical flow.
• Updates daily schedule by assessing no-shows and add-ins.
• Scribes in a rotational pattern.
• Answers and returns phone calls and writes scripts as requested by physicians and other departments.
• Stocking and cleaning clinic as needed.
• Facilitates patient experience by assisting physician in overall patient care.
• Works within the confines of the Eye Center team by assisting other departments with answers to questions, patient triage, etc.
• Self-study is required to obtain/maintain ophthalmic technician certification within 18 months of employment.
• Maintains a professional demeanor, including dress and work conversation.
• Understands and solves patient complaints.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Who You Are

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in a fast-paced medical office and in electronic health record is preferred.

Additional Job Details

• Floats between our Erie location at 101 Erie Pkwy, Erie, CO 80516 and Boulder location at 4745 Arapahoe Ave. Boulder, CO 80303.
• This is a Full Time Position.
• This position offers a full wage range based on experience, certifications, and demonstrated skills. Final pay will be determined through our skills assessment process:
• Level I (No certifications): $21.71 – $23.39 per hour
• Level II (COA or COT): $23.68 – $30.11 per hour
• Level III (COA, COT, or COMT): $30.70 – $39.68 per hour
