Job summary

Adventure Dental, Vision, & Orthodontics in Denver, CO is seeking an Optometric Assistant to administer visual tests, operate diagnostic equipment, and assist with eyewear fittings. The role reports to the Lead Optometric Assistant and offers a pay range of $16.50-$22/hr with bonus opportunities.

Responsibilities include patient scheduling, pre-tests, scribing and helping patients choose frames, plus maintaining a clean, welcoming office environment and supporting underserved children’s vision

Qualifications

• Proficiency in EHR systems.
• Ability to train and lead a team of Optometric Assistants.
• Ability to multitask and complete tasks correctly and on time.

Responsibilities

• Understand, monitor, and ensure smooth execution of office processes including coding and optometric materials, insurance benefits, patient collection and documentation.
• Call patients regarding appointment confirmations, reminders, cancellations, no shows, and recalls.
• Support optometrists during eye exams by preparing patient, performing initial pre-tests, and recording results.
• Accompany patients and parents during exams to pre-test the patient and assist Optometrist in scribing and finding a good fit for glasses.
• Perform vision tests such as visual acuity, color vision, stereo, confrontations, pupils, ICT, and administer dilation drops.
• Help patients select frames and lenses based on prescriptions.
• Process patient payments during check-in and check-out.
• Ensure practice is clean and presentable to patients.

Adventure Dental, Vision, & Orthodontics in Denver, CO, is currently seeking an Optometric Assistant to administer visual tests, operate diagnostic equipment, and help with eyewear fittings. This position will report to the Lead Optometric Assistant.

Pay range: $16.50-$22/hr (AND BONUS OPPORTUNITY)

Job Responsibilities

• Participate in other duties that support the mission of providing high-quality and compassionate dental, vision, and orthodontic services to underserved children

Job Qualifications

• Previous experience in a vision practice is a plus
• Ability to tech, scribe, and perform optometric tasks
• Proficiency in EHR systems
• Ability to train and lead a team of Optometric Assistants
• Ability to multitask and complete tasks correctly and on time
• Preferred knowledge of optometric online software/database, Intero Order processing systems, Google Docs, and Document Portal Spreadsheet software
