Job summary

MyEyeDr. in Lexington Park, MD is hiring an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry with patient prep, preliminary testing and measurements. No optical experience is required; training and tools will be provided to help you learn the vision care industry and deliver a best-in-class patient experience.

This full-time role reports to the Office General Manager. Some weekend and evening shifts are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Personable and patient with patients.
• Detail oriented and works well with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about industry, products, and services.
• Collaborative team player with focus on patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, accurately document existing conditions and complaints, and chart medical history to prep for Optometrist exam.
• Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and additional office staff throughout appointment.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures they will be exposed to during appointment.
• Learn to use pretest equipment to perform a range of visual screenings for patients before visiting with the doctor.
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing.
• Collaborate with doctors and team to provide a seamless patient experience.
