Job summary

JWCH Institute is seeking a Para-Optometric Technician to assist Optometrists at Wesley Health Center in Bellflower, CA. The role includes pre-testing, exam support, patient guidance on eyewear, and maintaining patient records with HIPAA compliance.

You will help ensure smooth patient flow, operate diagnostic equipment under supervision, and manage frames and supplies. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred, with BLS/CPR certification beneficial.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• At least 1 year of experience working in a healthcare setting.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care and eye examinations, including pre-testing and maintaining records.
• Support efficient patient flow and prepare for health visits.
• Operate and maintain diagnostic equipment under Optometrist supervision.
• Provide guidance on eyewear options, frame fitting, and ordering procedures.
• Maintain inventory of frames, lenses, and optical supplies.
