Job summary

LensCrafters, part of EssilorLuxottica, seeks an Optometric Office Associate to partner with the Managing Doctor to deliver high-quality eye care and an exceptional patient experience during exams.

You will train new staff, coach teams, support scheduling, assist with patient care and tests, and ensure accurate records while maintaining HIPAA compliance. This role emphasizes communication, organizational skills and a customer-first approach.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years in a healthcare and/or optical setting.
• Strong sales and leadership abilities.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple tasks.
• Proficient with exam software, POS and optometric equipment.

Responsibilities

• Train and certify all newly hired doctor’s office associates.
• Observe and coach on quality of assessment.
• Provide scheduling feedback to optimize patient exam times.
• Assist opticians with product knowledge and vision solutions.
• Coach patients on contact lens care and handling.
• Support patient care and maintain accurate records.
• Conduct tests to aid the optometrist during exams.
• Review prescriptions and patient information carefully.
• Identify and address dissatisfied patients promptly.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant handling of records.
• Support contact lens exams and orders.
• Operate the POS system and manage sales transactions.
• Ensure a safe environment for staff and patients.
• Assist with visual merchandising in exam lanes and areas.
• Perform pre-exam tests and explain measurements to patients.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and disinfection.
