Job summary

Visionworks of America is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to ensure a great patient experience by preparing patients for onsite or remote exams and performing pre-exam diagnostics. You will liaise between patients and Optometrists, explain procedures, and assist with both in-store and remote eye exams.

The role requires one year of related experience, an optical/healthcare background preferred, and a HS diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• 1 year of related experience
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred
• Medical office/business professionalism required
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience
• Training provided

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect medical history into EMR
• Assist onsite doctor with eye examinations and document results
• Explain pre-testing steps to patients and conduct preliminary tests
• Support remote eye exams including testing and video conferencing
• Coordinate with retail staff to schedule exams and manage appointment books
• Instruct patients on contact lens care and order stock lenses
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure equipment cleanliness
• Travel to other locations as needed
