Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to prepare patients for both on-site and remote examinations, perform pre-exam tests, and explain steps of the process. You will liaise between patients and optometrists and support the early stages of the patient journey.

Responsibilities include registering patients, assisting with eye exams, documenting results in EMR, and coordinating with retail staff for follow-up appointments.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience in optical/healthcare preferred.
• Strong customer service and professionalism required.
• HS diploma or equivalent required. Training provided.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and submit medical history to EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor with eye exams and document results in EMR.
• Support remote eye exams including pre-testing and video conferencing.
• Explain doctor recommendations to patients and transition to retail staff.
• Preauthorize insurance and manage appointment books.
