Job summary

VisionFirst Eye Care is seeking a friendly, patient-centered team member to enhance the patient experience in our Shelbyville location. You will greet patients, prepare them for exams, perform pre-tests, and help ensure smooth flow throughout each visit.

You will work with diagnostic equipment and maintain accurate records with warmth and professionalism. This role emphasizes teamwork, detail-orientation, and a willingness to learn, with training provided for optometry/medical office procedures.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented and organized under pressure.
• Team player who is dependable and takes ownership.
• Prior optometry or medical office experience is a plus, but we’ll train the right person.

What You’ll Do

You’ll be a key part of our patient experience — greeting people, prepping them for exams, conducting pre-tests, and ensuring that every patient has a great experience. No two days look exactly alike. Some key job duties include:

• Use diagnostic equipment and perform preliminary testing
• Prepare patients for their eye exams by performing medical history intake
• Guide patients through their visit with warmth and professionalism
• Keep patient records accurate and up to date
• Assist with various in-office procedures that ensure organized and efficient patient flow
