Job summary

Samtec, Inc. in Silicon Valley's Santa Clara, CA, seeks an Optoelectronics R&D Technical Leader to direct RF-optics product design across multiple disciplines. You will lead a team through prototype bring-up, testing, and production qualification, shaping technical direction and ensuring scalable, cost-efficient solutions.

Responsibilities include modeling, simulation, hands-on validation with RF and optical tools, and collaboration with manufacturing to meet ITU/MIL-STD standards.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of optoelectronic transceiver design focus on RF-optics.
• Experience with RF design tools and optical simulation software.
• Hands-on testing with RF/optical equipment and measurements.
• Strong understanding of RF principles and optoelectronic concepts.
• Ability to solve complex RF/optical integration challenges.
• Excellent documentation and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop hybrid RF-optics products optimizing bandwidth and power.
• Model and simulate RF/optical subsystems to refine designs.
• Lead hands-on prototype testing using RF and optical tools.
• Collaborate with PMs and manufacturing to ensure scalable designs.
• Document specifications, tests, and performance data for milestones.
