Samtec, Inc. is seeking an Optoelectronics R&D Technical Leader to guide the technical direction for designing and developing optical transceiver products at the Silicon Valley Design Center in Santa Clara, CA.

You will lead a multi-disciplinary team spanning EE, RF, optics, mechanical, firmware, and process development. You will translate requirements into metrics, drive prototype bring-up, integration, characterization and product validation, remove roadblocks, and provide technical advice to

Qualifications

• 4+ years of optoelectronic transceiver design experience.
• Familiar with RF design tools (ADS) and optical simulation (Zemax/OptiSystem).
• Hands-on experience with RF/optical test equipment.
• Strong RF and optical domain knowledge and cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop hybrid RF-optics products for high bandwidth and power efficiency.
• Model and simulate RF and optical subsystems using ADS/HFSS/Zemax.
• Integrate RF components with optical elements to create cohesive assemblies.
• Perform prototype bring-up, testing, and validation with RF and optical tools.
• Document specifications and support production transitions.
• Collaborate with product managers and manufacturing to ensure scalability and cost-effectiveness.
