Job summary

Samtec, Inc. seeks an Optoelectronics R&D Technical Leader for our Silicon Valley Design Center in Santa Clara, CA. You will own technical direction for designing optical transceivers and lead a multi-discipline team through full product development life cycle.

Responsibilities include prototype bring-up, testing, validation, and collaboration with product management to ensure scalable, cost-effective designs with industry-standard compliance.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of optoelectronic transceiver product design experience.
• Familiarity with RF design tools (Keysight ADS, HFSS) and optical simulation software (Zemax, OptiSystem).
• Hands-on testing with RF/optical equipment and test methods.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop hybrid RF–optics products (e.g., RF-over-fiber modules, optical transceivers).
• Lead a cross-disciplinary engineering team through development life cycle.
• Translate requirements into design specs, perform prototype bring-up and validation.
• Collaborate with product managers and manufacturing for scalable, compliant designs.
