Albedo is designing and building VLEO spacecraft hardware, from structures and mechanisms to opto-mechanical assemblies, to sustain high-precision optical performance in demanding thermal and dynamic environments. Qualifications

• Owned a tolerance stack-up or mechanical error budget and drove it to closure.
• Familiar with structural or thermal analysis processes and selecting modeling approaches.
• Familiarity with interferometric testing and optical metrology to guide mechanical adjustments.
• Released real drawings with GD&T and worked with machinists.
• Desire end-to-end hardware ownership rather than narrow analysis or drafting tasks.
• Opto-mechanical depth: worked on hardware maintaining optical performance under environments.
• Designed athermal mounts and materials for dimensional stability beyond simple CTE matching.
• Transferable skills from semiconductor, precision metrology, medical devices, or robotics to space hardware.

Responsibilities

• Design precision mechanical hardware across spacecraft product lines: structures, boxes, mechanisms, sensors, actuators, mounts and benches.
• Own the mechanical side of a performance error budget: allocate tolerances, run stack-ups, ensure closure.
• Responsible for mechanical allocations for fabrication, alignment, and stability, contributing to the system-level wavefront error budget.
• Work with mechanical analysis team to support FEA and optical performance analysis.
• Design for athermalization and dimensional stability; select materials and mounting schemes.
