Impulse Space is seeking an Opto-Mechanical Analysis Engineer to support the development of precision optical systems for spacecraft. This role focuses on structural, thermal-elastic, and dynamic analysis of opto-mechanical assemblies.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical fundamentals and experience with FEA or structural analysis, with an interest in the intersection of mechanical design, optical performance, and spaceflight environments.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical fundamentals and good problem-solving skills.
• Experience with finite element analysis or structural analysis.
• Interest at the intersection of mechanical design, optical performance, and spaceflight environments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct structural, thermal-elastic, and dynamic analysis of opto-mechanical assemblies.
• Ensure optical hardware survives launch and maintains alignment under thermal/vibration.
• Support lens barrels, detector mounts, mirror mounts, and other optical assemblies as needed.
