Job summary

Samtec, Inc. in Vista, CA, seeks engineering Co-Ops and interns for its Optical Group to support FireFly and HALO transceiver development.

The schedule is a minimum of twenty hours per week, typically M-F 8AM-6PM. Pay is $22.00 per hour. Co-ops may participate in tuition assistance and Samtec's 401k plan.

Co-ops will collaborate with electrical, mechanical, optical, process, data, and software engineers and complete assigned projects, while maintaining a strong customer focus and initiative.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Optical, Process/Industrial Engineering; Physics; Data Science; or related field
• Freshman/Sophomore/Junior with related internship or project experience
• Excellent Written and Verbal Communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with a team
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective time management skills with multiple projects
• Detail-oriented
• Adept at working with small/delicate objects
• eager to gain new expertise and quick to pick up required skills

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned projects within the Optical Group
• Work with electrical, mechanical, optical, process, data, and software engineers
• Maintain customer focus and initiate/follow up on actions
• Learn basics across disciplines and technologies as available
