Job summary

Bellaire Family Eye Care, a privately owned optometry practice with six doctors, is seeking a dedicated optician for our optical department. You will assist patients in selecting eyewear, fit and dispense glasses, and verify insurance.

You will educate patients on premium frame and lens options while delivering exceptional service in a supportive, energetic workplace. We offer a positive team environment and a schedule with no night or weekend hours.

Qualifications

• Two years’ minimum experience preferred in a fast paced optometric or ophthalmology practice as an optician.
• Ability to dispense and fit eyeglasses ensuring proper fit and comfort for a variety of patients including pediatrics and seniors.
• Educate patients on lens options, proper lens care and eye health.
• Exceptional communication skills (verbal & written), bilingual a plus.
• Ability to work successfully in a team environment, functioning for the good of the team over the individual.
• Superior patient service skills to exceed the needs of our patients.
• Experience with Crystal PM or a similar electronic medical record system.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with selecting eyewear.
• Fit and dispense eyewear as chosen by patients; verify insurance as needed.
• Educate patients on high-end frames and lenses and lens options.
• Provide superior patient service and clear communication to all patients.
