Job summary

Kleinwood Vision in Northwest Houston seeks a full-time Optician to join a private practice team, Monday through Friday 8:30am–5pm. Knowledge of Neurolens and Myopia Management is a plus. The role emphasizes customer service excellence and accurate lens fulfillment.

Responsibilities include patient education, preliminary testing, phone handling, appointment scheduling, insurance coordination, and lens/frame ordering. A friendly, dependable, and stress-resilient mindset is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Be friendly and personable with staff and patients.
• Communicate effectively in person, on the telephone, and in writing.
• Use computer systems for sales, ordering, and daily operations.
• Provide polished, high-end customer service and understand shopper needs.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients on lens options based on prescriptions and needs.
• Work up patients during preliminary testing, answer phones, book appointments, and check insurance benefits.
• Order and follow up on lens frames and contacts; notify patients when materials are ready.
• Be punctual, manage multiple tasks, and maintain priorities.
• Promote a positive atmosphere and help achieve company goals in eye care.

Private practice in Northwest Houston looking for a FT Optician - M-F 8:30am - 5pm. Knowledge in Neurolens and Myopia Management a plus.

Qualifications:

• Polished high end customer service skills and a real ability to understand your shopper's needs.
• The ability to handle and seek to resolve customer complaints if they arise, with tact and good outcomes.

• Be able to work in a stressful environment, deal with stress in a healthy manner and effectively create a positive atmosphere for all staff members.
