Job summary

The Eye Center Okmulgee is seeking an Optician to educate patients on lens technology, advise on eyewear options, and create an enjoyable shopping experience while accurately applying prescriptions.

The role includes calculating insurance co-pays, entering orders for the optical lab, maintaining displays, and supporting patient flow with exceptional customer service. Experience with insurance eligibility and frame styling is preferred.

Qualifications

• Assist patients in spectacle selection with lens options and frame styling.
• Calculate insurance co-pays and verify eligibility.
• Enter orders accurately and monitor daily status.

Responsibilities

• Guide patients through eyewear selection to fit lifestyle and prescription.
• Calculate insurance co-pays based on eligibility.
• Enter spectacle orders accurately and track delivery.
• Receive and verify spectacle orders; notify patients and schedule dispensing.
• Follow up with patients on adaption to eyewear and contacts.
• Perform spectacle adjustments and repairs when necessary.
• Troubleshoot patient concerns with eyewear when necessary.
• Educate patients on the care of prescribed eyewear.
• Maintain inventory and displays of optical merchandise.
• Monitor patient flow and communicate delays to other departments.
• Perform other duties as determined by the doctor.
