Job summary

Binyon Vision Center in Burien, WA is seeking a full-time Optician to guide patients in selecting eyewear that matches their prescription, lifestyle, and personality. From recommending the latest lens technology to adjusting frames with precision, you’ll blend fashion with function while delivering an outstanding patient experience.

The ideal candidate has ABO or LDO certification or at least 3 years of experience, strong communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• ABO or LDO certification or 3+ years of optician experience.
• Knowledge of optical terminology, eyewear materials and lens tech.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses based on prescription, lifestyle and aesthetics.
• Accurately measure and fit eyewear using pupillometers and lensmeters.
• Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and eyewear care.
• Place, verify, and receive eyewear orders; inspect glasses for quality.
• Adjust, repair, and maintain eyeglasses and frames as needed.
• Maintain patient records and process insurance benefits.
• Provide outstanding customer service and answer patient questions.
• Train new opticians and manage frame inventory and sales.
