Job summary

Marion Eye Centers in Carbondale, IL seeks an Optician to help patients choose eyewear that fits prescription, lifestyle, and budget. You’ll measure PD and other optical parameters, explain lens options and coatings, and ensure accurate fittings with a positive, patient-first experience.

The role emphasizes friendly customer service, accuracy, and teamwork in a fast-paced clinical setting. Prior optical experience is preferred, but training is provided to the right candidate.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and assist them in selecting frames and lenses that meet prescription and lifestyle needs.
• Accurately measure pupillary distance (PD), segment height, and other optical parameters.
• Educate patients on lens options, premium lens technologies, coatings, and frame materials.
• Recommend products that fit each patient's visual needs and budget.
• Process eyewear orders and verify prescription accuracy.
• Maintain attractive frame displays and manage optical inventory.
• Collaborate with providers and team members to deliver outstanding patient care.
