Job summary

SVS Vision Opticians will assist customers in selecting eyewear, lenses and contacts, ensuring prescriptions are correctly interpreted and fulfilled. The role involves pre-screening for exams, preparing work orders for the lab, and handling medical billing information with attention to accuracy.

Qualifications

• Maintain license as required by State
• High School Graduate or equivalent
• Previous experience in an office and/or optical dispensing setting is preferred
• Able to handle multiple customer interactions/phone calls at a time
• Able to work with patient eyewear needs including analyzing prescriptions, repairs and adjustments and lifestyle dispensing

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer and patient service according to company and store standards
• Analyze patient eyewear needs
• Recommend specific lenses, coatings and frames to satisfy patient needs
• Assist patients in selecting frames according to style and color
• Ensure frames are coordinated with facial and eye measurements and prescriptions
• Order and dispense eyewear accurately and professionally
• Assist patients with frame repairs and adjustments
• Show patients how to insert, remove and care for contact lenses
• Balance accounts
• Process medical billing information
• Maintain frame inventory
• Process transactions in optical billing and POS systems
• Organize and file patient and customer records
