Job summary

American Vision Partners is hiring an Optician at our Surprise, AZ location. You will assist patients in selecting eyewear, take measurements, and ensure accurate fitting and care guidance, while collaborating with prescribing physicians when appropriate.

We welcome an Optician OR an LDO for this role. The position emphasizes high-volume patient service, precise lens ordering, and maintaining equipment and inventory. Competitive benefits and opportunities for growth are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Previous optical experience required.
• ABO and NCLE required; state license preferred or within 6 months.
• Detail oriented, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; strong communication.
• Schedule Monday-Friday.

Responsibilities

• Interprets prescription and helps patients choose eyewear, consulting with prescribing physicians as appropriate
• Takes optical measurements necessary for eyewear preparation
• Orders eyewear from laboratory based on prescription and patient preference
• Performs quality inspection of lenses and frames
• Adjusts eyewear for patient and instructs on cleaning and handling
• Makes any necessary repairs using appropriate parts and tools
• Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies
