Job summary

American Vision Partners (AVP) is seeking an Optician or LDO at our Chandler location to help patients select and order eyewear, perform measurements, and ensure a high-quality fitting experience. Bilingual Spanish is a plus, with opportunities for ABO/NCLE certification within six months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Interprets prescription and helps patients choose eyewear, consulting with prescribing physicians as appropriate.
• Takes optical measurements necessary for eyewear preparation.
• Orders eyewear from laboratory based on prescription and patient preference.
• Performs quality inspection of lenses and frames.
• Adjusts eyewear and instructs on cleaning and handling.
• Makes necessary repairs using appropriate parts and tools.
• Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies.

Overview

As an Optician customer service is priority one! You’ll assist patients with selecting and ordering eyewear, adjustments and fittings, and educating on proper eyeglass and contact lens care. Your initiative and organizational skills will keep us running at top performance, while your enthusiasm and knowledge will provide an exceptional patient experience.We are open to hiring an Optician OR an LDO for this location.

• Previous optical experience preferred
• ABO & NCLE is a plus, will be require within 6 months of hireLDO is a plus
• Detail oriented, reliable and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong computer skills, including Word and Excel
• Flexible schedule working Monday-Friday
