Job summary

L.O. Eye Care in Howell is seeking a full-time Optician to deliver personalized eyewear fitting and exceptional patient service. You’ll guide patients through selecting frames, discuss lens options, and ensure accurate measurements and orders across locations.

Responsibilities include lensometry, prescription interpretation, education on contacts, and processing insurance and payments while maintaining confidential patient care and sales goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of optical or retail experience preferred.
• ABO Certification desired.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual or auto lensometer to determine eyewear needs.
• Interpret prescriptions and take correct measurements for eyewear.

From fitting frames to offering style advice, you’ll make eyewear shopping an enjoyable experience.In addition, you’ll handle contact lens orders and provide patients with essential education on wearing and maintaining their prescribed contacts, making sure they leave feeling empowered and informed.Essential functionsThe following list is a summary of the key functions of the job and may not be inclusive of all duties assigned.Properly operate manual or auto lensometer and other tools to determine patient eyewear needs.Interprets prescription and takes correct measurements for eyewear solutions.Utilizes assigned software system to input patient information, orders, and billing of insurance.Communicates information regarding products and services accurately to patients and their advocates.Discusses lens and comfort options with patients based on their selection, offering guidance as needed.Orders eyewear and contacts and keeps patients informed of order status.Conducts final inspection of eyewear and contact lens orders and notifies patients when order is ready for pick-up.Maintains knowledge of all lens, frames, accessories, and insurances as necessary.Bills insurance orders, collect payments, and/or escorts patients to check-out for deposit or final payment as necessary.Follows and achieves defined sales goals on monthly, quarterly, and annual intervals.Maintains patient service standards by working out of any assigned L.O. Eye Care office as needed.Maintains patient confidentiality.Cleans, organizes, and maintains presentability of sales floor, displays, and patient areas.Conduct contact lens training classes.Assists in other locations as an optician as assigned.Core CompetenciesAt L.O.
