He/she is responsible for the daily operation of the Eye Lab and Dispensary. This means control of inventory and equipment, and for grinding and dispensing of eye glasses. An Optometrist supervises the Optician.**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*** Interacts professionally with patients/customers at the front desk dispensary to assist with various services, including selection and fitting of frames.* Accurately cuts lenses with minimal waste and assembles eyeglasses.* Fits and adjusts frames. Performs a full range of repairs as needed.* Keeps the Director informed of price changes by suppliers. Assists with annual review of pricing structure.* Keeps the dispensary and work areas neat and stocked with a variety of frame designs.* Interacts with patients and other staff in a professional and respectful manner, which reflects the needs and concerns of the individual.* Consistently provides excellent customer service and makes patients feel welcome. Maintains a positive attitude. Uses communication devices appropriately.* Report delays in supply orders, safety and equipment problems, and malfunctioning or missing equipment.**Qualifications and Requirements:*** H.S./GED Required.* Graduate from a Certified Optician program or equivalent experience and a license.
