Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Optical Physics with 3+ years experience in fiber optics.
• Hands-on experience with fiber optic components and test equipment (lasers, optical switches, power meters).
• Strong knowledge of optical metrology and statistical data analysis.
• Ability to travel 15-20%.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and automate optical test systems; apply scientific principles to develop measurement solutions.
• Develop and implement test methodologies and software for automated test systems; assess accuracy and repeatability.
• Develop calibration procedures and define measurement uncertainty.
• Plan and execute product test programs; perform failure mode analysis and troubleshoot optical measurement systems.
• Document, verify, and approve test results, data analysis, and test reports per Telcordia, ISO, IEC, and customer requirements.
• Independently identify technical objectives and critical experiments; contribute to and lead project workstreams.
• Coach and train technicians and engineers.
• Generate test reports and laboratory procedures.
