Job summary

SureFire LLC is seeking an Optical Test Engineer to lead measurement and test activities on the optical manufacturing floor in Fountain Valley, CA. The role covers metrology, electrical test, and test automation, bridging hands-on work with software tools to ensure equipment readiness and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and 2+ years of relevant experience, with proficiency in test scripting (Python) and familiarity with CMM/optical

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline.
• 2+ years relevant work experience preferred.
• Experience with measurement equipment (CMM, optical comparators, gauges).
• Experience with test automation/data acquisition (Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB) preferred.
• On-site presence required.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional inspections and measurements using CMM, optical/vision systems, and hand gauges.
• Set up and execute electrical/electronic tests using instrumentation such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and data acquisition systems.
• Develop and run automated test scripts using Python to improve coverage, cycle time and repeatability across mechanical, electrical and software tests.
• Provide input on fixtures, gauges, and test setups; identify issues and propose improvements.
• Drive continuous improvement in measurement/test methods and repeatability.
