Job summary

Clarkson Eyecare in Washington is seeking an Optical Technician to dispense and fit glasses and contacts, following prescriptions from Optometrists and Ophthalmologists. You will focus on maximizing the Total Patient Experience while supporting medical needs and sales objectives.

You will operate instrument tools, educate patients on lens options, and assist with frame selection, measurements and order fulfillment to ensure accurate eyewear delivery and exceptional service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Previous medical office experience preferred; ophthalmic experience is a plus.
• Minimum 1 year in a role interacting with customers/patients.

Responsibilities

• Embrace the Total Patient Experience to build relationships while delivering medical support.
• Determine patients’ wants and needs and sell to exceed expectations.
• Assist patients in selecting frames based on style, color, measurements and prescriptions.
• Operate the auto-lensometer and manual lensometer.
• Educate and recommend lenses, coatings and frames to suit needs.
• Accurately collect measurements such as bridge, eye size, temple length, seg heights, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and pantoscopic tilt.
• Dispense orders and repair/adjust patient frames.
• Dispense glasses and/or contact lens orders in E360.
• Maintain frame standards with cleaning and organization of the area.
• Follow all protocols to keep frame inventory accurate.
• General office duties and cleaning as assigned by manager.
