Job summary

American Career College seeks a dedicated Optical Technician faculty member to guide students toward professional success in healthcare. You will mentor students, demonstrate effective teaching methods, and apply practical experience to your teaching schedule.

You will participate in course assessment, contribute to curriculum improvements within shared governance, update class materials and syllabi, and use diverse teaching methods to help students meet learning outcomes while pursuing

Qualifications

• Two years of occupational experience in the subject field, or three years if education requirement is not met.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Graduation from an accredited program and ABO/NCLE certification or eligibility within six months.

Responsibilities

• Mentor, role model and facilitator for students.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and the teaching/learning process.
• Apply experience to your teaching schedule.
• Participate in and contribute to assessment activities of courses/curriculum and programs via a continuous improvement plan.
• Regularly contribute to improvement of class materials and syllabi within prescribed shared governance culture.
• Utilize a variety of teaching methodologies to instruct students, with aim to meet learning outcomes.
• Maintain scholarly activities.
