Job summary

Clarkson Eyecare in Alexandria, VA seeks an Optical Technician to deliver a world-class Total Patient Experience while supporting patients' medical needs. The role dispenses and fits glasses and contacts from Optometrists' prescriptions, connecting patient needs with the store's goods and services.

You'll determine patient wants, assist with frame selections based on measurements, operate auto-lensometer and lensometer, and educate customers on lenses, coatings, and frames.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of customer/patient interaction experience.
• Previous medical/ophthalmic office experience preferred.
• Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Deliver total patient experience while supporting medical needs.
• Assist patients in selecting frames based on style and measurements.
• Operate auto-lensometer and manual lensometer.
• Educate and recommend lenses, coatings, and frames.
• Take measurements such as bridge, eye size, temple length, seg heights, vertex distance, PD, and pantoscopic tilt.
• Dispense orders and adjust frames.
• Dispense glasses and/or contact lens orders per prescriptions.
