Job summary

Shopko Optical in Wadena, MN is seeking an Optical Manager to lead our team, drive sales, patient care, and service excellence. You will supervise dispensing eyewear, set strategic goals and work with the optometrist to deliver great results.

The role requires ABO/Shopko OCE certification within 12 months, several years of leadership in optical/retail, and strong customer service. We offer 401K with match, vacation/personal days, sick pay, EAP, and on‑the‑job training & certification.

Qualifications

• ABO/Shopko OCE Certification required within 12 months of hire/promotion.
• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• 3 years of leadership experience or equivalent management experience with strong customer service focus (preferably in an optical or retail setting).
• Proven ability to lead, coach and build relationships in a professional environment.
• Able to direct and motivate a diverse teammate network.
• Solid organizational and planning skills.
• Able to analyze financial data and drive profitability.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
• Solid computer knowledge including Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead team to execute merchandise, operational and customer service strategies to deliver planned sales, gross margin and financial results.
• Model service, patient care and selling techniques to maximize customer satisfaction.
• Hire, train and coach teammates; manage performance.
• Partner with Optometrist to drive business results and patient care.
• Ensure store is compliant with HR policies and laws.
• Open/close the store, cash office and alarm response.
• Provide and model excellent customer service in all interactions.
• Dispense eyewear according to professional standards.
