Job summary

Walmart is seeking an Optical Associate at the Clarksburg location to maintain the Optical area, assist members with eyewear decisions, and process orders and payments. You will measure pupillary distance, adjust frames, and trouble-shoot lens issues under supervision.

Responsibilities include patient scheduling, adherence to HIPAA, and coordination with labs and optometrists. Prior retail or healthcare experience is preferred, with licensure requirements pursued as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with ABO certification within 15 months.
• Willingness to obtain state licensure as required within 18 months.
• Experience in health care or retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Optical area merchandizing: stocking, signing, pricing, and organizing displays.
• Assist members with eyewear selection, measure pupillary distance, and perform frame adjustments.
• Process eyewear/contact lens orders, payments, returns, and refunds via POS.
• Support appointments and OD/telehealth services where applicable.
• Ensure HIPAA-compliant record-keeping and insurance claim handling.
