Job summary

Molex, a Koch company, seeks a Reliability Engineer to develop reliability strategies for next-generation WSS optical products. You will design test plans, run accelerated life and environmental tests, and work with cross-functional teams to drive Design for Reliability throughout development.

Responsibilities include risk assessments, FMEA, and data-driven analysis to predict field reliability, with strong communication of findings.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, materials science, physics, optical engineering, or related engineering discipline.
Experience in product reliability engineering and new product development.
Experience planning environmental testing and accelerated life testing.
Experience performing root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies.
Strong understanding of statistical analysis and experimental design.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively on multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Curiosity and passion for understanding product failure mechanisms.

Responsibilities

Develop reliability strategies for new optical products from concept through production release.
Create reliability test plans based on customer requirements, Telcordia and industry standards.
Design, execute, and oversee accelerated life testing and environmental stress testing.
Identify potential reliability risks early and define validation plans to mitigate risk.
Partner with optical, mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, process, and quality engineers to implement DfR.
Participate in design reviews to influence architecture and material selection from a reliability perspective.
Perform statistical analysis of reliability and life test data to evaluate performance.
Collaborate with program management, sourcing, manufacturing, and logistics for prototype builds and qualification testing.
Communicate technical findings and risk assessments through reports and presentations.
