Job summary

TE Connectivity is seeking a Manufacturing Process Development Engineer for optical assembly processes in a high-precision environment. The role focuses on end‑to‑end fiber optic termination, PFMEA, and continuous improvement to meet yield and cost goals.

Responsibilities include tooling qualification, pilot runs, and training operators, with exposure to MES and automation. Based at a temporary site in Webster, NY with move to Rochester; frequent collaboration with CM partners is expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years in manufacturing process development, precision assembly, optics, or electronics.
• Hands-on optical termination, fiber handling, precision processes, and SPC.
• Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize end-to-end optical connector manufacturing processes.
• Lead PFMEA and corrective actions to improve yield and cost.
• Develop process specs, control plans, and work instructions.
• Train operators and mentors in termination methods and quality practices.
• Integrate tests, automation, and MES for production operations.
